Rawalpindi’s Kutchery Chowk Project Gets New Opening Date
The long-awaited Kutchery Chowk redevelopment in Rawalpindi now has a revised opening timeline. According to provincial authorities, the busy junction will be opened to traffic by April 30, 2026, with major structural work completed before Eidul Fitr.
Punjab Highway Department officials say that over 45% of the work is already done, and construction teams from the Frontier Works Organisation are operating around the clock to meet targets.
Key construction milestones including guide beams, piling, and retaining walls are nearing completion, and road laying is expected to wrap up by April. After that, landscaping and beautification efforts, such as planting trees and flowers, will follow with support from the Rawalpindi Parks and Horticulture Authority.
This project is part of broader efforts to ease traffic congestion in one of the city’s most crowded intersections, improving connectivity for commuters across Rawalpindi.
